How you got into yoga: A knee injury brought me to yoga after almost 15 years of competing in competitive sports. My yoga mat has provided me with an outlet for self-exploration and growth, both physically and mentally.
Where you vacation: Anywhere near the Ocean! Running on the beach, practicing in the sand and floating in the water… it’s where I feel most at peace.
What’s your Rock OM?: The practice of yoga is so beautiful because it is never static, but ever evolving. It is without judgments, and without limitations. Let go of your expectations and explore new space; you will be surprised that what lessons you discover on your mat will often translate into your every day life.
Words to live by:
“Life will give you whatever experience is most helpful for the evolution of your consciousness. How do you know this is the experience you need? Because this is the experience you are having at the moment.” – Eckhart Tolle
“Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.” – Leo Buscaglia
Favorite part about RIO: The ability to be creative and authentic as a teacher is truly inspiring, and that’s what Rio is all about, is offering our students a real experience that resonates with them because it does with us!
